Edition originale en excellent état. Ouvrage essentiel pour la compréhension de l'histoire de cette communauté, mais en même temps pour l'histoire de la Nouvelle-France, de la conquête et du régime anglais vue à travers le prisme de cette communauté fondatrice et les perceptions de ses membres. Rédigé selon Gagnon et TPL par la Mère Saint-Thomas avec la participation de l'abbé Georges Lemoine (Gagnon) et de la Mère Saint-Marie Cimon (selon TPL). La table des matières du tome 1 annonce quatre gravures à insérer à la reliure «si elles sont reçues de France à temps». Il est en réalité très rare de trouver le tome 1er avec ces quatre gravures. La plupart des exemplaires connus n'en contiennent pas ou, comme le nôtre, n'en contiennent qu'une partie.
